- Who belongs to PW?
Every woman in our congregation is considered to be a vital part of
PW. This year we invited 63 new members into PW.
-
I hear you have a lot of fun
in PW but what is the purpose of the whole thing? Yes, we
DO have a lot of fun in PW while we are striving to nurture our faith
through prayer & Bible study, supporting the mission of the church
worldwide, working for peace and justice, and building an inclusive, caring
community of women who witness to the promise of God’s kingdom.
- I really don’t want to make
any more commitments , I’ve kinda been there done that, so I wonder if I
should attend PW gatherings?
By attending PW gatherings
you are not making ANY commitment.. You will be welcomed for fun,
fellowship, lunch and a good program.
- What kind of programs do you
have at your gatherings?
Last year we got to know each
other by bringing our talent in a bag, we heard about our missions from the
Duvall Home, the Arcadia Farm Workers, and Senior Center, we learned about
our choir’s trip to Scandinavia & Russia, we learned about Genealogy
research, & we had a great Mother Daughter Friend dinner & show, and our
famous Christmas Tea. Coming up we have a program on Prayer, our own
Antiques Road Show, speaker from Thornwell, "The Wizard of Kingdom Come" by
the PW players, "Being a Minister’s Wife", "Herbs in Your House", Gulf Coast
Foundation, "Historic Bridal Fashion Show" by VPC Brides, & our annual
Christmas Tea.
- What do Circles do?
Circles meet once a month for fellowship and Bible Study. Circles offer
small group closeness and support. Circles take turns hosting our gatherings
and sponsoring Memorial Service refreshments and coffees & fund raisers.
- How many fund raisers do you
have?
We have 3 fund raisers :
the White Elephant Sale in November,
the Christmas Tea in December,
and
the "Deckadent Dessert Game & Card Party in Feb.
We have a ball working on
these projects together. It’s a great way to get to know each other.
- Would I be expected to help
with all those fund raisers?
Certainly not. We can always
use help but we understand if you can’t do it. We will not make you feel
guilty if you don’t help. We all just do the best we can when we can.
-
- Do I sign up? How do I get
